But what do you do with your tree when the celebra- tion is over? Two Mason County fa- cilities will accept Christmas trees for free during January. County residents can drop offtheir old trees at the Shel- ton Transfer Station, 501 W. Eells Hill Road, and the Bel- fair Drop Off Facility, 2001 N.E. Sand Hill Road. The Shelton transfer sta- tion is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Satur- day The Belfair solid-waste drop-off facility is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. No free Christmas tree drop-off will be available at the county's Hoodsport or Union solid-waste drop-off facilities. Trees being dropped off for free recycling at those fa- cilities will need to be free of tinsel, decorations and flock- ing. Wreaths and garland, will not be accepted for free recycling because these items cannot be recycled because of the wire they contain.
